EM Lewis has worked on a variety of projects, in the theater and beyond.  These are a few that don’t quite fit into the “playwright,” “librettist,” or “teacher” categories.

Host Playwright — For the last five years, Lewis has been the Host Playwright for the Ashland New Plays Festival.  She welcomes the four winning playwrights to the festival, moderates talk-backs, and teaches playwriting workshops for members of the community.

Mentor — Lewis twice served as a playwriting mentor for the annual Young Playwrights Festival at the Blank Theater in Los Angeles, CA.

Producer — While in Los Angeles, Lewis produced a year-long theatrical investigation into the Iraq War called The War Plays Project.  It featured readings, discussions with playwrights from across the country, and panel discussions on a variety of topics.

Screenwriter — Lewis has written several screenplays.  “Blood Memory” was a quarter-finalist for the Nichols Fellowship.  “Entangled” was a project she wrote for HayHouse Publishing, which was produced in 2012.
